Our Legacy

Our roots trace back to the picturesque town of Corato in the region of Puglia, Italy—a place renowned for its bountiful vineyards and olive groves. The fertile lands of our hometown are not only celebrated for their olives and grapes but also for cultivating the culinary traditions that we bring to your table.

The journey of our family began with Daniella's father, a pioneering spirit in the Italian restaurant scene in New Jersey. With a dream that started in the early 1960s, he opened his first pizzeria in Hackensack, NJ. His dedication and passion for authentic Italian cuisine fueled his success, allowing him to own, operate, and eventually sell a series of successful restaurants across the state. His establishments helped introduce the rich flavors of Southern Italy to an entire generation.

Each restaurant under his guidance became a cornerstone of Italian dining in New Jersey, known for its commitment to quality and authenticity. These eateries were more than just places to eat; they were gatherings where families and friends could enjoy the true essence of Italian hospitality.

At Apulia Risto-Pizza, we honor this rich heritage by continuing to use traditional recipes passed down through generations. Daniella, inheriting her father's entrepreneurial spirit and passion for hospitality, ensures that the legacy of excellence continues. She, along with Daniele and Lalo, infuses traditional Italian cooking techniques with modern twists, ensuring that each dish we serve is both authentic and innovative.

Our brick oven, imported from Italy, represents a melding of tradition and modernity. It allows us to offer pizzas that are fire-roasted to perfection—crispy, flavorful, and with a touch of home.
